An experimental documental road-movie along the longest river in Europe and about the socialist heritage. The fictional hero makes the journey down the Volga and try to answer to revolutionary Lenin's "What to do?" The powerfull stream of the Volga leads him to new reality.

The film tells about the changes in the banks of the longest river in Europe in the 20th century, tells about the historical events that took place on the banks of the Volga, as well as the ecological state of the river, affecting the future of the river.

Karelians is a Baltic-Finnic ethnic group in Karelia region. From 13th century Karelians fighted often against Novgorod and Sweden. Novgorod made the attempts to convert Karelians to Orthodoxy. Sweden brought Karelians at first to Catholic Church and later to Lutheranism.
