Russia has developed, overcoming the tragic thresholds of history, but every time it has risen from the ashes, like a phoenix bird. Three decades have passed since the third catastrophe. So are there any prospects? Is there any hope for a new revival?

This is a film about two women. Both have lost their loved ones. One in the Great Patriotic War, the other in the Afghan war. Each fate released only a few days of happiness. But both carried their love and loyalty throughout their lives. Together with them, we re-read letters from the front and again experience the happiness of love and the bitterness of loss.
