A film-study of the life of the outstanding constructivist artist Vasily Dmitrievich Ermilov. He worked in the country of a totalitarian regime, but at the same time he was a cosmopolitan, a humanist, an innovator in art. The film is dedicated to the 120th anniversary of Yermilov's birth.
