A quarter of a century after the death of the outstanding film director, creator of the films "Lermontov", "Dmitry Shostakovich" Albert Gendelstein, only a few lines remained in the film encyclopedia, his personality and work did not fit into the framework of socialist realism. This film is the result of work in many public and private archives, including the archive of Leonid Utyosov, Albert Gendelstein's father-in-law. It is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the film director.
