«Rodina» means «homeland». It is a 50 minutes road movie about 2 football fans traveling 3000 km from a rural village to the World Cup. The main hero, Uncle Sasha, has never left his village (the place even without mobile services) for 30 years. For the first time in his life he sees foreigners, big cities and his own country not on a tv screen.

Year after year, a simple Pskov farmer Francois Tulikunkiko tries to find his own unique path to success in the Russian countryside and answer the question, What prevents us from living better? An ironic story about the struggle of a village dreamer and a true patriot with everyday difficulties, about big ideas and plans, about "success" that does not come where you expect it.

An orphan, a disabled man and a former robber find shelter in a distant dilapidated monastery in the Russian provinces. Difficult living conditions and the strict charter of the monastery differ from life in the world. Each of them will have to make a choice: stay here or go back to the world.
