A conversation with the king of this kingdom, as well as trips to the jungle surroundings of the city, where it is quite risky to get there, where tribes live, engage in handicrafts, including fantastic metal products dating back to the half-lost method of the Harappan civilization, where they trade in special markets with cock battles where you can find marvelous ancient temples in the area or unexpectedly get into the depths of the jungle in a military garrison.

There is not much information to this day about the ancient temples of the Indian state of Chattisgarh, as well as about the state itself, little visited by visitors due to ongoing local wars and the lack of tourist infrastructure. So, in Raipur there is a 500-year-old monastery of the Holy Milkman, and in Sirpur there is a fantastic "mushroom of temples" and a small village, the former capital of the kingdom with more than 20 Hindu, Jain and Buddhist temples, among which there are temples of the 6th-7th centuries.

There are not many places left in the world of extraordinary beauty and power, and at the same time without tourist crowds. The village of Melukote in the Indian state of Karnataka is an ancient multi-tiered cosmos of times and spaces. It has only one street and a huge number of temples from megalithic and cave to large thousand-year-old with a powerful monastic community. This is one of the main centers of Vaishnavism. Here in the 11th-12th century lived the great philosopher and reformer St. Ramanuja. The Academy of Sanskrit with a marvelous library is also located here. The film shows an integral image of this Hindu "Makondo" with choral singing of monks singing hymns of the Rig Veda.

The film was shot in the outback of Chattisgarh state on a small farm, where the author was visiting the followers of the mystic poet St. Kabir, who preached the unity of all religions, the one God and the equality of all, the king and the beggar, man and woman. Peace of St. Kabira intersperses in the film with the world of the local school, located next to the ashram, creating a somewhat phantasmagoric image of this farm.

A film about the village of Shravanabelagola, which is called the "Vatican of Jainism" because it houses several dozen ancient Jain temples. Here, 2.5 thousand years ago, the great emperor Chandragupta Maurya, who corresponded with Alexander the Great, lived, under which India became an empire, and the emperor himself converted to Jainism and retired to asceticism.

The Buddhist-Hindu caves of Ajanta are a world heritage monument, built from the 2nd century BC to the 14th century AD. 29 grandiose temple caves carved into the rock of a canyon in the outback of the Indian state of Masharashtra and discovered by chance only in the 19th century. Extraordinary beauty wall paintings, bas-reliefs and sculptures, staying (for the sake of safety) in semi-darkness.

Author's documentary film of the poet Sergei Solovyov. Shooting in the Bor tiger reserve, Maharashtra, India. The entire shooting was carried out on foot, illegal forays into the reserve. The overarching goal of the film was to get as close as possible to the nilgai (the largest antelopes in Asia) and create their image, especially the male, "witness of paradise", in profile similar to a unicorn.

The text layer is the author's reading by Sergei Solovyov of poetic fragments from the book "Her Names". The music layer is the background music and voice of Leonid Fedorov recorded for this project.

The cult of the goddess Amman (Mariamman) is one of the oldest folk cults, perhaps older than the cult of Shiva or Vishnu. It can be said that this is, in a certain sense, a pre-Hindu cult, widespread almost throughout India, where this goddess was known under various names, in the south, in Tamil Nadu in particular, under the name Amman. The film was shot in the jungle village of Bogapuram at the annual festival in honor of this goddess in March 2019.
