This short film-portrait is the debut of the author, a student at VGIK in the workshop of Boris Yakovlevich Karadzhev and Efim Ilyich Reznikov. The film was created as part of my studies.

The story of a simple man. Ruslan lives in Dagestan, he is 46 years old. He and his wife are raising sons, developing a small business. Ruslan recently donated his bone marrow and saved the life of an unknown child.

After World War II, a campaign began in Soviet Armenia to return Armenians to their homeland. Since 1946, over four years, more than 90 thousand Armenians from Syria, Lebanon, Bulgaria, Iran, Romania, Greece, Iraq, France, Egypt, Palestine, and the USA have arrived in Armenia. Instead of the promised houses, people were settled in basements and buildings not intended for life. By 1949, the vector of Soviet policy towards Armenians had changed. On the night of June 13-14, 2754 families (12.3 thousand people) were deported to the Altai Territory, of which 1578 were repatriates. Among them is the Maral family.

Victor Sergeevich is an artist who restores parsunas (portraits) of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania of the 18th century. Most of these portraits have already been lost. Belarus has lost part of its cultural heritage. The artist takes this tragedy to heart, just like the demolished historical center of Minsk. Walking through the streets of the city, he always notices a “remake” in architecture and likes to remember how the city looked before reconstruction.

This is a documentary about the case of the Khachaturian sisters (Angelina, Krestina and Maria), who are accused of premeditated murder of their father, but the lawyers assure that it was self-defense and they had no other choice. One way or another, the case was a turning point for the country, which for the first time spoke openly about violence happening behind closed doors, and that is why the case of the Khachaturian sisters is “Our cause”.

The pastor is encouraging forgiveness, many people in the parish feel that it’s time to put the matter to rest – and the former child victims are fighting for recognition and dignity... Korntal, a little town in the south of Germany, is the scene of the greatest abuse scandal ever to rock the Protestant Church in Germany. An estimated 150 former children from homes run by the Pietist Brotherhood have broken their silence: They are revealing the physical and mental horrors to which they were exposed. Many of them were victims of sexualised violence there at an early age. The 9,000-person town and its parish have responded to the accusations with disbelief and denial. They cannot imagine that this could have happened in their God-fearing town. However, pressure is mounting on the Protestant brotherhood – which still runs children’s homes – and it is initiating an inquiry. There is much contention about compensation and how to proceed with the inquiry. Many victims are being helpless again by their testimonies being called into question and are describing the inquiry as further abuse. The film gives 6 protagonists the chance to tell their stories and to put to rights what they feel the inquiry report fails to disclose. A sensitive, profound treatment of a highly topical subject.

Maciek lives in the Polish village close to Belarus. It is winter 2021 and the crisis at the border is intensifying. The whole area becomes a military zone. The district is patrolled by the border guard searching for “illegals” and pushing them back to Belarus. One day Maciek’s mother is letting an exhausted Syrian refugee to their house.

Russian actor Vasily Ivanovich Kachalov in 1911, at the height of his career, played Hamlet in the production of G. Craig and K.S. Stanislavsky. Vasily Kachalov was lucky to fully reflect his time and become, according to his grandson, a lump of nerves of the era.

Two parts of the timeline are involved in the formation of the identity of the corporation, broadcasting their own images. Reality has not yet come close to rendering, in such conditions it is necessary to fix the temporary present in order to possibly become closer to the truth. This is possible as long as the identity based on the corporate image has not supplanted the self-consciousness of a person who has a memory of this place.

Petrozavodsk, at first glance, is a completely ordinary tourist city. Ordinary until you find out that there is a whole area in which people still live in concentration camp barracks. How is it that almost nothing is known about this outside the city? And how does it feel to know that your room was once someone's prison?
