Climbing the tower, the artist Igor Makarevich builds a path along the figurative tower which is one of the most frequent and important motives of his work. The artist is followed by a character created by him which appears in the film as a subjective view. tThrough his works Makarevich speaks on such often taboo topics as death and madness, without leaving a subtle irony and lyrical outlook on things.

On December 23, 2020, the smelting shop in the village of Nikel carried out the last melting and was stopped forever. The workshop began to be built back in the 30s, when this territory belonged to Finland, and the village was then called Kolosjoki. At the end of World War II, when the territory was ceded to the Soviet Union, the destroyed plant was restored, and the village was named Nikel. It is located west of Murmansk, a few kilometers from the Norwegian border. In the 1980s, the plant emitted about 400 thousand tons of sulfur dioxide into the air per year, and in 1990 an environmental campaign was even launched in Norway to Stop the Soviet Death Clouds. The Norilsk Nickel company, which took over the mining and metallurgical plant in Nikel in the 1990s, initially agreed with Norway on the modernization of enterprises on the Kola Peninsula, but then abandoned the program. In the end, Norilsk Nickel, the largest supplier of non-ferrous metals to the world market, decided to close the smelter on the border with Norway, promising workers social guarantees, transfer to other company enterprises, retraining, pensions, and a small business development program for the village and, for example, industrial tourism.

The film was shot in Luzhitsy village. Exactly in that period of time natural and social landscape in that area began to change drastically because of grandiose industrial building process. The situation exceedingly effects Vad'd'a, they are a small people with thousands years of history, they survived through wars, revolutions and Stalin.

The film consists of a series of self-disclosures, striking in their sincerity. The picture is permeated with the poetry of the emptiness of a huge city, Moscow.

Film "Anna. Kill a Journalist” is dedicated to the well-known journalist and human rights activist Anna Politkovskaya, who died at the hands of criminals. In the film about Anna Politkovskaya, her colleagues, and most importantly, the protagonists of her publications, are remembered: mothers whose children suffered; wives whose husbands died in Chechnya or became victims of terrorist acts; women whose loved ones have lost their lives. One of the women was prevented from committing suicide by an article about her dead son, while another gave her the strength to fight.
