On July 1, 2021, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law that prohibits publicly comparing the roles and actions of Nazi Germany and the USSR during World War II. The law will add to the arsenal of legislative acts that impede the work of historians, activists and nongovernmental organizations dealing with the Soviet past. In continuation of the report "Russia: Crimes against History", published on June 10, director Olga Kravets, with the support of the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH), created a short film shedding light on the policy of the Russian authorities aimed at creating a monopoly on historical memory.

In the very center of Ukraine, just 191 kilometers from Kyiv, is the village of Balakleya. Its inhabitants live their lives, self-sufficient, not needing the outside world at all. They lay the Christmas table, sing carols, go to visit each other, and plant potatoes in the spring. Their way of life is based on traditions that have been developing for centuries and that exist now. Religion in Balakliya is closely intertwined with the life of the villagers and forms their identity. Watching the preparation of food and feasts, the authors plunge into the unhurried, measured life of a completely isolated world, the main principles of which are based on hospitality and love for one's neighbor.
