The protagonist of the film is Zinovy Tennenboim from St. Petersburg. He works as a mechanic for the city service "Vodokanal". For 30 years he has been climbing into manholes and repairing cranes. In another time, in another place, perhaps he could have been a scientist or a writer. But he is content with his fate. He loves his job. He knows how to be happy. The film is a participant of the IFF of Documentary Films in Leipzig, a participant of the INPUT-2005 final (San Francisco).

The main character of the film is Alexander Isaevich Solzhenitsyn. The film uses materials both previously known and unpublished so far, as well as interviews with Alexander Isaevich, in which he talks about the future of Russia and the world in the 21st century, about modern literature and his difficult life. In addition to him, people who knew him closely, Evgeny Mironov, Alexander Sokurov, Georges Niva, Boris Morozov and his most important close friend and wife Natalia Dmitrievna Solzhenitsyna, participate in the film.

1500 women are serving their sentence in a penitentiary in Belarus. Long-term imprisonment fills women with dread to be forever separated from their families and get deprived of their vital support. For those who have children it is particularly unbearable. Rehearsals in prison theatre help women not to lose themselves. The premiere will take place at the Drama Theater. For convicts, this is a chance to appear in front of their relatives not as criminals. The play production process is a reason to search for answers to questions, about the cost of criminal misconduct and the expediency of long isolation.

The story is built around an excerpt from the biography of director Vladimir Alenikov, known for films and books about Petrov and Vasechkin. Vladimir Alenikov in 1974 undertook the production of a film about the greatest man in Armenia, Komitas, an Armenian composer and musician. For the sake of the film, he is ready to put everything on the line, give up big money, personal life, career. And it seems that success awaits him in Armenia. Hospitality and luck accompany at every step. Finally, here's the footage. The final is near. Suddenly a commission gathers and decides to destroy the film. But Alenikov does not give up until the last. Melodrama, comedy, thriller, tragedy, all genres converge in a short passage from the life of a famous director.

Summer 2010. Russia. Fires. The village of Lesha burned down almost completely, only charred trees and heaps of bricks remained in place of houses. He walks along the former village street to feed the cat and dog that live in his ashes. He goes and talks about fires and not only about them.

I haven't seen my father in 15 years. I fly to Tokyo, turn on the camera and film how we are trying to pretend that everything is fine, but there is nothing normal inside of me.

After two and a half years in captivity, Imad, his little brother Idan, and their mother Ghazala are released into a displaced persons' camp in Kurdistan. Healing from the trauma is hard for all of them, but it seems Imad is having a particularly tough time. Not yet five, he has already spent over half his life enduring terror, abuse, and "training" meant to make him heartless. Speaking only Arabic, he cannot communicate with his family, and the only means of expression at his disposal is violence. He hits and spits, and his only game is pretending to be an ISIS fighter who shoots, blows things up, and kills. This poignant film follows him as he takes hesitant steps on the hard road to recovery, guided and held by his mother, his grandmother, and an incredibly supportive therapist.

“I worked two days in my life!” This is a film about a happy man, actor, clown and teacher Yuri Borisovich Ilyashevsky, who raised more than one generation of famous actors and directors and who has been practically living at VGIK for many years. Life was not always favorable to him, but always returned him to his beloved profession.
