Olga Sergeyevna with her son Oleg and his army friend Sergey first came to Amsterdam in 1991 and spent several summer months visiting director Lily van den Berg. Thus, Lily van den Bergh had a unique opportunity to observe their acquaintance with Western society and decided to capture it on film. No one suspected that in a year Olga would lose her life in this city. On July 26, 1992, on the third anniversary of her husband's death, Olga's body was found in one of the canals in Amsterdam. Her sudden death forced the director to look at the footage in a reverse perspective.

The Okrestin Sisters is a Belarus Free Theatre (BFT) and Creatives Politics Hub production, shot and directed by a film-maker and BFT ensemble member, Kolya Kuprich. This short captures the first moments upon the release and the immediate witness accounts of three BFT members who were arrested in Minks on August 9th 2020, following the Presidential Election. BFT's General Managers, Nadia Brodskaya and Svetlana Sugako, along with the BFT actor Dasha Andreyanova were rounded up and detained while peacefully waiting for the results of the election at a local polling station. What followed their detention, was a surreal cascade of a Kafkaesque, bureaucratic judiciary system met by brutal, Gestapo-type assault on innocent citizens of Belarus. All happening away from the cameras, behind closed doors, inside authoritarian prisons. The creators of the film want the shed light on what took place in Belarusian prisons during the detentions of August 9-14.

The main thing for a real writer and his readers is texts. A biography is a less significant thing. Most readers of Don Quixote do not know the biography of Cervantes and do not particularly need it. But sometimes the biography of a writer can become an explanation for the incident of a genius who turned out to be unnecessary or unidentified, unrecognized. This is precisely the case of Friedrich Gorenstein, the author of Andrey Rublev's monologues in Tarkovsky's film and the screenwriter of his own "Solaris", the author of the dialogues in Konchalovsky's film "The First Teacher" and co-author with him of the script for the film "Slave of Love". Andrei Tarkovsky and Benedikt Sarnov, Naum Korzhavin and Vyacheslav Ivanov have called and continue to call his books brilliant. Gorenstein has lived in Berlin for the last 20 years. Benedikt Sarnov, Andrey Konchalovsky, Mark Rozovsky, Leonid Kheifets, Vladimir Voinovich, Andrey Bitov, Boris Khazanov, Mikhail Levitin, Natalya Ivanova, Viktor Erofeev, Evgeny Popov and others remember and talk about Gorenstein on the screen. The film also includes archival video recordings of interviews with Gorenstein.

The typical living blocks – Troyeshchyna in Kyiv. The neighborhood’s biggest pulsing arteries, Tsvetayeva and Mayakovsky Streets, were constructed almost simultaneously several years before the Soviet Union collapse. The combination of archival footage and today’s shootings brings up the almost 100 years of history – from right after the revolution, in 1918, when Mayakovsky starts to make films, until the modern day. Or in the intersection on the two streets there is a story of the masses whose poet Mayakovsky was; the masses who ousted Tsvetayeva from their concrete towers. In any case, it a magic of the closest things that the pedestrians wouldn’t pay attention to.
