Sergey, a young Russian theatre director, arrives in Chile to stage Mikhail Lermontov's forbidden play "Masquerade". Meanwhile, a Chilean group of actors learns the same texts in Spanish. But when the creative process touches upon some rumors about the author’s life, awkward moments arise: the Chilean and the Russian group seem to have different ways of dealing with culture, sexuality, and censorship.
